Who we are –
Cushing Memorial Park is a family-oriented 35 acre lakeside recreation area which sits on the shore of beautiful Lake Allatoona. The unlikely front gate to this private park lies behind a well-kept subdivision in Atlanta’s northern suburbs. Incorporated in 1952 and developed by Delta Air Lines employees, we are located just 1 hour north from the Atlanta Airport off I-575 between Canton and Woodstock, Georgia.
Our heritage –
We are here because Pat Godfrey, a Delta Air Lines aircraft inspector, was inspired by a newspaper article he read about an Atlanta industrial firm’s recreational site on Georgia’s Allatoona Lake. He called upon C. E. Woolman, the founder and then president of Delta Air Lines who enthusiastically endorsed a similar project as a weekend escape for employees. The park is named in honor of George R. Cushing, former vice president-operations Delta Air Lines, who lost his life in an airplane accident in 1947.
What we offer –
Cushing Park gives its members plenty of ways to get wet. Skiing, wake boarding, knee boarding, tubing, jet skiing and swimming are all popular, along with drier pastimes like fishing, picnicking and sunbathing by the clubhouse’s pool which overlooks the lake. The park is known for its eclectic boathouses; these winter storage units become furnished cabins during the summer, each reflecting the character of their owner. This lakeside community fosters a strong sense of family at Cushing Park. The park has boat ramps, docks for boating, skiing, swimming and fishing. There are storage racks for skis, canoes and kayaks. The park has a clubhouse with a seasonal snack bar. There are picnic pavilion areas overlooking the lake with barbecue grills for group gatherings. An overnight RV campground with full hook-up is available. If camping is not your thing, then there are lakeside cabin rentals available too! Wi-Fi is available throughout the Park. The park has a playground area for small children. The park leases wet boat storage (boat slips), open boat storage, dry boat storage (boat houses, boat sheds), trailer lots, and campsites.

A limited number of memberships are currently available.
As a not-for-profit-member-owned-facility, our rates are the most reasonable on the lake.

Since we are a private gated park, reservations are necessary to visit.
However, this means that we are an excellent place for family recreation and fun at the lake or at the pool.
